Project Description

The programmed construction cost of improvements is $16.3M

Construction Schedule

This project will help address overall safety and improve operations at the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Washington Street by adding dual left turn and right turn lanes on all 4 legs of the intersection. New traffic signals that include accessible pedestrian signals at the intersection as well as at Orchard Valley Drive and Hunt Club Road will be installed.

Non-motorized travel improvements will include filling in the bike path gap on the east leg of Washington Street and extending a bike path on the west side of Hunt Club Road to connect with the Village of Gurneeā€™s path, south of Dada Drive. These two components will link the Rollins Savanah Forest Preserve trails to the Des Plaines River Trail completing a key connection in the overall trail system in Lake County.
